It's a sunny day here in New Mexico. It's a little on the cold side, but if the wind's not blowing the sun, along with our mile-high altitude, can make the day feel very pleasant.
That's not the case this morning. I had a dentist cleaning appointment this morning (look Ma, no cavities) and our intent when I returned home was to ride the horses in the back and do some more basic, under-saddle exercises with them.
We went out to clean up last night's manure and found out the wind had picked up significantly. The forecast was for this to happen in the afternoon, but it started this morning.
Normally, I don't mind the wind if the temperature is more moderate. I don't even mind the strong winds we have in the spring. I find them interesting and part of the nature of living in New Mexico.
However, I don't like cold winds. Hear that Michelle? It's cold winds I don't like. I have a blogging friend, Kate, who's much tougher than I am and this cold wind would probably not stop her. I know, I'm a wuss when it comes to cold wind.
So, we decided to hold off riding until Friday morning when, hopefully, it will be a calmer morning. Now I need to turn on the heating pad and warm up some.

tehee. I like the heating pad part.
Thankfully we've not had the fierce winds that we typically get up here in the mountains every winter. I really don't like riding in bitter cold, gusty winds, and I don't think horses do either.
Stay warm,
~Lisa
It's 16 degrees here with a 35 mph wind from the west.. I think I'll take a walk in the woods..unfortunately there is no sun.
Dan, I find that interesting. I, however, am so mature that I like any wind. Let it blow and blow and blow.
;)
Ha!
