Friday Ride, Star Trek, Anniversary, and Last Flowers

Betty and I had a good Friday ride this morning. We took Sugar and Morgunn down to one of the irrigation ditches and had fun. The only problem is getting started so early to avoid the heat. Our daytime highs are in the mid-90's which is normal for July.

That means I get up at 5:30 AM to feed the horses so we can go out to groom them and tack them up starting at 7:30 AM. That way we can be riding by 8 and back home by 9:30 at the latest, just as it's starting to warm up.

This afternoon we're going to see the new Star Trek movie. We wanted to see it on the big screen and this will probably be the last week to do that.

Betty reminded me this morning that today is the one-year anniversary of her emergency appendectomy. Happy Anniversary, sweetheart.

Finally, I saved our favorite flowers for last. You can't beat roses.

And Betty's favorite, a yellow rose.

Have a great weekend all.

Lovely roses, Dan and Betty. I'm glad you enjoyed yor ride.

Mid 90's you say? Yikes! Makes me grateful for our cooler mountains. We've yet to even turn on our evaporative cooler. We just keep our blinds closed during the hottest part of the day and keep the windows open and the fans going, and we're cool and comfy.

I hope you enjoyed the movie. :)

Did you like the movie? I went to see it w/ Trish, Chase and Max--sorta under protest from me. I ended up really enjoying it.
