In an earlier post I mentioned that Betty and I volunteered at the first annual Corrales Horse Extravaganza. It was part of the Harvest Festival that was held this past weekend. I took pictures and Betty did a lots of odds and ends.
The purpose of the event was to highlight the horse culture of Corrales and, for the first time it was held, we had a pretty good turn out -- about 150 people or so.
The event was in two parts. The first half showed the different breeds with the announcer reading the history and uniqueness of each breed. The second half demonstrated various horse disciplines.
Here are some pictures from the Horse Extravaganza.
Before the breed demonstration, a local horsewoman, Blair Darnell, was honored for all she did to keep the horse culture in Corrales alive and well for many years.
