Sunday Reflection – When the Earth Moves

I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. (Revelation 6:12-14)

I’m not an end of the world person.  I believe it will come as the Bible predicts, but I leave that in God’s hands.  However, 104 years ago today the people of San Francisco may thought this prophecy was coming true.  The video in the left frame shows a street car going North on Market Street in San Francisco about 4 days before the quake.  The video in the right frame shows a street car going the same direction on the same street a couple of days after the quake.
