Are You Prepared?

With all of the news about Japan’s struggles against the forces of nature and environmental problems, it made me wonder how prepared Betty and I are.
I know it’s unlikely we would have an earthquake in New Mexico the size of the Japan one, but we can be subject to other problems:  wildfires, etc.
I ran across this web site that gives a lot of good information that will help you think about your own preparedness.  Not everything will apply, but it will at least give you something to think about.

PS:  Mark and Kate were correct about the disk picture.  It was taken at the Farm where they have a display of antique farm equipment.

And preparedness when you have horses is an additional level of complexity.

Not me, but I think about it. I have a bag that is supposed to be set up for disasters. That's as far as I've gotten. Hoping this will get me one step closer. Even if I do it in steps, I'll be closer than where I was. Hopefully I'll have it all figured out before something bad happens.

Living as isolated as we do, we try to stay prepared. Try to. Good stuff.

My mom is always trying to get us prepared for one disaster or another. Max likes to make fun of her, but we know it is a good idea.

Saw a show on geographic about USA and possible quakes. They talked about the huge area around the Mississippi where we went bird watching. They showed the sand area from the air. It was sobering. Thanks again for taking care of us I always think I should make a preparedness box for each of our adult children to keep...but they might just let the items expire :-(
