No Sunday Reflection today - my horse, Sugar, is not feeling well. She started eating her hay normally this morning, then suddenly quit and laid down.
She got up again and ate for a few minutes and then laid down again.
She doesn't appear to be in distress. Hopefully it's just a minor stomach problem and will resolve itself. We're letting her rest for now. If things aren't better by tomorrow, or if she seems to get worse, then we'll call the vet.
UPDATE: Sugar got back up and is eating again. She also drank some water which is good. That's two of the three good signs. The only sign missing is seeing her poop. Eating, drinking and pooping are all signs of a healthy horse.
She did this once before about a year and a half ago. Horses are a lot like us - they just have some days when they don't feel good. That's where the phrase "being off your feed" comes from.

Hoping she feels better right away.
How about taking her for a walk? Sometimes, that helps get the bowels moving. Laying down is okay but don't let her roll. Hope she feels like herself soon.
Hope she feels better soon. I second the walk about it sometimes helps with getting the bowels moving.
