Watermelon Mountain

The mountains that we look out on are called the Sandias.  Sandia is Spanish for watermelon.  If you watch this short time lapse video you’ll understand how the mountain got its name as the color changes to a watermelon color just as the sun goes down.

How the Sandia Mountains got their name.

Are tutoring notes on the way?
I am getting RIPE for a slice of that mountain. Especially love those cloud shadows passing over it. Nothing beats the sun rise in your guest room!

That is awesome, especially around 45-48. I loved watching the clouds rolling by. I can look at both clouds and mountains all day long.
