Sunday Reflection - Life

Life has been an adventure for us over the last few months.

We've had our ups - our trip to the West coast that went so well, even with the minor attack of shingles Betty endured right at the end. We also had a wonderful visit with our kids and grandkids during the Balloon Fiesta.

Then we had our downs - our youngest son Chris who was so sick for several weeks. It was originally thought to be diverticulitis and then thought to be colon cancer. There is nothing worse for a parent than to have one of their children really sick and in danger.

The good news, another up, has been that they don't believe there is any cancer and they're back to a severe case of diverticulitis. It will mean another surgery around Thanksgiving to resect his intestines, but that's better than dealing with a cancerous tumor.

So, life for us has been a roller coaster of emotions over the past couple of months. Sometimes all you can do is grab hold and hang on - trusting that God is still in control even when we feel out of control.

I am with Keri...Amen and Amen. We have not been promised an easy life. Just one with a big hand to hold onto.
