Maundy Thursday

In the traditional church calendar today is Maundy Thursday, the celebration of Jesus washing the disciples' feet. When he did that, he told them he was giving them a new commandment, to love one another.

Maundy is derived from the Latin, 'mandatum,' which means 'to command, order.'

As we remember how Jesus humbled himself to be a servant to others, I pray that God will change my heart to be more like his so I may love others as he did.

Thanks. I don't miss the liturgical church too often, but I do miss the celebrations and contemplations of the Holy Days at times..
