All Things Come To An End

Well, it's time for this blog to come to it's end for several reasons...
One, it's time consuming and hard to find things to write about (you can only post so many funny videos). As I get older, I get more and more choosy about how I spend my time and my diminishing mental capacities ;)

Two, the readership has fallen off greatly over the last year -- even more so since I have started posting regularly on Facebook.

Three, Facebook is easier and quicker and it enables me to reach a larger group of people -- both friends and family. It allows me to share small thoughts as they occur. I have also enjoyed reconnecting with friend and family, especially my cousins in Michigan.

And four, I'm posting significant pictures of our travels and family visits on our Flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/corralesdan/sets I'll continue to let family know when we have new photos if you're interested.

So, if you're one of the few who still check out this blog, feel free to follow us on Facebook if that's of interest to you.

It's been fun and a challenge -- or as my favorite detective Monk would say, "It's both a blessing and a curse."

Thanks to those who have read our thoughts and adventures for all this time. You're the best.

And the sun sets...

Monday Video - Ever Wanted to Sky Dive?

This is about as close to sky diving that I want to get. It's the Navy Seal team, called the Leap Frogs, dropping into the San Diego Padres stadium on opening day. I think it's pretty cool.

Monday Video - Meet Chris P. Bacon

Meet Chris P. Bacon (get it?). Chris was born without the use of his hind limbs and was set to be put down before vet Len Lucero stepped in and built him a specially-designed wheelchair.

The lovable one-year-old now spends most of his time bringing smiles to faces at a hospital for disabled children in Brighton, Massachusetts, but also gets out quite often making friends wherever he goes.

Take a look back at his progress throughout the last year, from a 1/2 pound baby to a 65 pound grape eating machine.

Sunday Reflection - What Is Love?

I could say a lot of words about what is love, what is God's love. This video speaks far more eloquently than I ever could.

Bucket O' Hair

This is shedding season for horses when they go from their Winter coat to their Summer coat. Before riding this morning I almost filled a five-gallon bucket with Sugar's hair.

Friday Funny - Oz, The Alternate Ending

I love the Oz stories, but here's a great alternate ending.

Enjoying a Quiet Morning

Last night and evening (Wednesday) it was very, very windy. The wind lasted until early this morning. So, Morgunn and Sugar spent most of the morning enjoying the sun and slight breeze.

Heading Home -- Few More Pictures and A Short Video

We're heading home today, Monday, after a great visit with Wade Daniel, Marie, Juliet and Leah. Hopefully, we were a help to them by watching the kids during their Spring break so they could go to work.

Yesterday, Sunday, we had lunch at Red Robin and then headed back to Fossil Creek Park for some more play and rock climbing.

Thursday in Fort Collins

Yesterday, Thursday, we started the morning with Juliet and Leah watching "Frozen" for the 6th time. Then we went to Fossil Creek Park to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We ended our afternoon with a stop at Dairy Queen for some ice cream. Another good, if tiring, day.

Discovery Museum in Fort Collins

On Wednesday Wade Daniel took the day off from work to be with us and the kids. We decided to go to the Discovery Museum - a hands on museum for kids in Fort Collins.

After the museum we went to Burger King for lunch.

And then to a shop in Old Town Fort Collins.

Another good day with Juliet and Leah.

Jump In In Fort Collins

We had our first day of watching Juliet and Leah during their Spring Break. We went over to a Fun Center called Jump In where we met their other grandmother, Nancy Jo, and their cousins, Maggie and Kaley.

And a short video...

If you want a place that will drive an adult crazy, check out a fun jump place during Spring break.

Headin' North

We're heading North to Fort Collins for the week. This week is Spring break for Juliet and Leah's day care person takes this week off as well.

We're going to watch the girls Tuesday through Friday so Marie and Wade Daniel can go to work. Marie doesn't work on Monday so she's watching the girls today.

It will be great but it's going to be tiring. Pray for us ;)

Here's a short video of our resident gray squirrel yesterday trying to get to our bird feeder.

Sunday Reflection - Jump Shot

March Madness starts this coming Wednesday. If there's someone who doesn't know what that means, it's the start of the NCAA college playoffs.

There's a man you haven't heard of who invented something that will be used in every game.

What does that have to do with my Sunday Reflection? Just watch the video and you'll understand.

Friendship

Shirley was the older elephant 25 years ago when Jenny, a young Asian elephant, was brought into the circus. Shirley became the foster mother for Jenny. They were separated over 20 years ago. Shirley spent the last two decades in a situation where she was chained all the time.

Watch as Shirley is brought to a sanctuary to live out the rest of her life and meets Jenny after two decades.
