First, it appears that Simone took care of her 'bad feather' day a couple of days ago. We saw her this morning and she looked fine. She sat calmly on the swing with her feathers fluffed and no sign of a 'bed back.' I guess she went to a feather stylist.
Do you ever make decisions and then wonder why you did it? I did. I decided to order 6 yards of gravel with the idea of spreading it in the horses' run outs and in areas where they have to walk. It's a good thing for their hooves - helps them stay hard and helps keep them worn down - especially when we're not riding them as much.
But, 6 yards of gravel is a lot of gravel and it doesn't move on it's own and, as far as I know, there are no gravel fairies to move it in the middle of the night. So, it sits there - outside our kitchen window - reminding me I need to get it moved - one shovel and one wheelbarrow load at a time.
Oh well. I can sympathize with the bad hair day and the gravel. We ordered 12 yards of playground mulch to go under Jory's play set. Luckily, mulch is much lighter than gravel and we didn't have to move it very far, but 12 yards is a lot. Now, it is a yard full of leaves....but, maybe that is one thing you don't have to worry about!

Hey, maybe you can hook those horses up to a spreader and let them do all the work, like in the old days. Before horses were primarily pets. lol :)
